From February 26 to March 2, the Russian Boxing Men's Team Cup took place in Izhevsk, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Mikhail Kalashnikov, the designer of small arms.The competition was held with the financial support of the company «UralDomStroy» and the UDS group holding, the General Partner of the Udmurt Republican Boxing Federation.
200 boxers from 10 Federal Districts competed for the title of the strongest national team. The honored guest of the event was a famous professional boxer, world champion Denis Lebedev. In his welcoming speech before the start of the final fights, he noted: «My path to the big sport was through Amateur Boxing. Do Boxing, train and practice. Sport and healthy youth are the future of our country».
Within five days the strongest boxers of Russia demonstrated their skills and will to win in the ring. In the final, the best ones met - teams from the Privolzhsk and Siberia Federal Districts. Three athletes from Udmurtia, Kirill Nikiforov, Maxim Chernyshev and Hovhannes Snkhchyan, boxed up in the PFD team.
With a score of 18:12 a convincing victory in the Team Cup was won by the team of the Privolzhsk Federal District! The honored silver goes to the representatives of the SFD, bronze – team of Moscow.
