On February 4, the opening ceremony of the boxing hall «Zolotaya Perchatka» named after Andrey Abramov, one of the strongest heavyweight boxers of the 1950s and 1960s, took place at the site of the city prevention center «Podrostok» on Udmurtskaya str., 245. The guest of honor at the ceremony was the Olympic champion Alexander Povetkin.
There are two separate halls on 180 square meters, one of which includes a new training ring. In addition to the main hall, there are comfortable changing rooms and showers. The boxing hall is equipped with modern technological equipment, exercise equipment and punching balls.
Under the guidance of experienced coaches 51 people are engaged in the «Zolotaya Perchatka». Selection for those who wish is currently open. It is planned that the number of students will double in the coming years.
The opening of the new boxing hall was made possible due to the support of the Republican and city authorities. «UDS group» provided financial assistance in equipping the newly renovated hall. Its collaboration with the Udmurt Republican Boxing Federation has been going on for several years. With the support of the holding, equipment for athletes is acquired, premises are being renovated, trips for training camps and competitions are organized. The equipment of the new hall is the contribution of «UDS group» to the development of boxing in Udmurtia, attracting young people to sports and a healthy lifestyle, educating a new generation of сhampions who will defend the honor of the Republic and the country at the European and World Championships.
