The occupational skill contest among oil pumpers was held in UDS Oil. The event took place in Tchepetskoe Oil and Gas Production Division and included two stages: examination of theoretical knowledge and evaluation of practical skills.
The theoretical part included questions and answers session related to the job specifics, production processes, characteristics of equipment, requirements of health and safety regulations. Aleksei Medvedev, Oil Pumper of Oil Production and Treatment Shop №1, was the best in the theoretical part.
Practical part was conducted at well №101 in Zorovskoe field. The competition included recording of dynagraph, fluid level shooting, replacement of pressure gauge at flowline, evaluation of SRP performance using dynagraph. In spite of agitation, all competitors were successful.
Based on the total score for theoretical and practical parts the following three winners of the contest were determined:

Aleksei Medvedev (Oil Production and Treatment Shop №1) in the first place

Aleksei Sobolev (Oil Production and Treatment Shop №3) is the second-best

Sergei Tyutryumov (Oil Production and Treatment Shop №2) is in the third place
All competitors were awarded with certificates and gifts, winners received money rewards.
- Everyone was practicing a lot for such competitions. I was not sure if I win until the very last moment, when the certificate was awarded. Practical part was not a problem as I and my colleagues perform these actions every day during the work and they are habitual for us. Acting in front of the audience was more difficult. I was not practicing specially for the contest but I read book related to the petroleum industry in my free time. Knowledge and experience helped me to achieve excellent result. The day of the contest was my birthday, so I have made myself a present. Participation in such competitions is a good opportunity for advancing professional training and development, promoting our discipline, said Aleksei Medvedev, the winner of the Best in Trade award.
